Village of Kildeer
The Village of Kildeer, a community of 3,600 people was established in 1958. It is located in the beautifully wooded southwest corner of Lake County, 29 miles northwest of Chicago. Kildeer is known for its rural setting, natural habitats and wetlands, dotted with custom homes that marry with their natural surroundings. Kemper Lakes Golf Course is the gem of the recreational bill of fare covering many rolling acres. Lake Zurich Park and Recreation Department serves Kildeer in providing athletic programs and park areas. In addition, nearby Lakewood Forest Preserve and Lake County Museum furnish picnic areas, fitness trails, hiking, skating and tobogganing facilities. There are also private and public clubs either inside or just outside the boundaries of Kildeer.
Transportation
Kildeer is located within miles of expressways including the Tri-State Tollway (within 10 miles) and the Northwest Tollway (I-90 - within 2 miles). O'Hare International Airport is within 40 minutes of Kildeer. Mass transit is provided by Metra/Chicago and Northwestern, Metra/Wisconsin through nearby communities. In addition, PACE bus service has stops in Lake Zurich which is minutes away from Kildeer.
Education
Kildeer's schools are reputed to maintain a strong dedication to learning as evidenced by test scores and high school matriculation rates. Elementary schools are with Lake Zurich Community School District #95 and Community Consolidated School District #96. Adlai E. Stevenson High School is part of District #125 which consistently scores well above state and national averages and produces many National Merit Scholars annually.
Government Services
The Kildeer Police Department provides 24-hour police service. Roads and sewer services are provided through Kildeer along with a dedicated administratiion staff, building, zoning and public works offices.
